Sonographic examination

Sonographic examination of the musculoskeletal system is an auxiliary imaging examination to complement the diagnosis of a wide range of diseases, soft tissue injuries - muscles, tendons, ligaments, assessment of cartilage condition, and possibly the diagnosis of inflammation, infection, swelling.

Preliminary sonographic examination as part of general surgery for soft tissue diagnostics, approximate assessment of the condition of internal organs, diagnosis of free fluid in the abdominal cavity, etc.

Kinesiotaping

Kinesiotaping is a method of therapeutic treatment in which special elastic tapes are applied to affected areas of the body. These tapes are made of hypoallergenic material and have elasticity similar to human skin.

The tapes work by improving blood and lymphatic circulation in the specific area and enhance proprioception (position sense), which is essential for proper muscle tone and movement coordination.

All of this leads to an improvement in the overall metabolism of the affected area, meaning a reduction in inflammation, swelling, pain, an increase in range of motion, and an improvement in the quality of life.

Depending on the application method, Kinesiotaping:

  • Supports the proper function of lymphatic vessels, reducing swelling.

  • Supports the muscle when its function is inadequate or weak.

  • Reduces muscle overload and tension on tendon insertions.

  • Stimulates acupressure points.

Application of Blood Plasma

This therapy involves the application of enriched blood plasma with platelets, known as PRP (platelet-rich plasma), a trademark of the company Arthrex ACP.

The main effect of enriched blood plasma with platelets is its anti-inflammatory action and initiation of natural processes that lead to tissue healing. At the site of plasma application, platelets gradually break down, which is their natural process. As they break down, they release a large amount of various factors, including growth factors, insulin-like factor, etc. These factors help initiate the healing process in soft tissue injuries.

Scientifically proven results from specialized independent studies demonstrate the effectiveness of enriched blood plasma in cases of osteoarthritis. Studies show a reduction or even elimination of joint pain, an increase in patient mobility, and consequently an improvement in their quality of life. This applies to osteoarthritis of large joints - hip, knee, shoulder, and ankle joints, as well as small joints in the thumb, known as rhizarthrosis, and other small joints in the hand.

Another area where enriched blood plasma plays a significant role is in various minor injuries to soft tissues, muscles, such as injuries to muscle bundles. In the case of early application of PRP, ACP leads to faster healing and a quicker return of patients or athletes to normal activity.

The effect of blood plasma can also be observed in other conditions, such as various tendinitis, enthesopathy, epicondylitis, commonly known as tennis elbow, and the conservative healing of small rotator cuff tears.

How the entire process works:

The entire process of applying enriched blood plasma takes a maximum of 30 minutes, including consultation with the doctor.

Venous blood is collected and processed using a separation mechanism in a centrifuge.

This leads to the separation of plasma and the so-called buffy coat. Platelets are light elements that remain in the lower layers of the plasma, which is then extracted using the Arthrex system.

Subsequently, the enriched blood plasma is prepared for application to the affected area, under strict sterile conditions. In some indicated cases, the plasma is applied under ultrasound guidance.
